The Institute of Employment Studies and the Work Foundation published research showing the business benefits of High Performance Working. The report presents findings and analysis from People and the Bottom Line, the third
part of a research project exploring the link between the way employees are managed and organisational performance. The project began in 2004, when Investors in People UK (IIP UK) – together with the Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Department for Education and Skills (DFES) – began drawing together evidence of the links between skills and organisational performance.
 

Jointly published by CIPD, BERR (formerly DTI) and Best Companies looking at high performance working in organisations. Authors: Prof. David Ashton and Johnny Sung. Includes a survey of CIPD members and case studies from a sample of companies from the Sunday Times 100 best companies to work for 2004.

Human Capital Benchmarking

The Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) worked collaboratively with McBassi & Company to deploy their Human Capital Capability Scorecard (HCCS) within members of the Financial Services Skills Council. The HCCS methodology was used to collect data on elements of five key human capital indicators that are proven drivers of financial results: (1) Workforce Optimisation, (2) Knowledge Accessibility, (3) Learning Capacity, (4) Employee Engagement, and (5) Leadership/Managerial Practices. The final summary report identifies those human capital factors that are most closely associated with financial performance and with employee commitment. Additional focus on these factors would improve overall organisational effectivenesss and financial performance.
